課程概述 |
本課程計畫以生命政治(biopolitiics)的閱讀角度切入經典與當代英國小說與電影文本,閱讀文學與電影文本中反映出的生命倫理與身體政治,檢視當代文化理論與小說電影文本呈現的醫學想像與恐懼,企圖開發更具省思內涵的閱讀與思考角度。
本課程計畫以當代文化理論的閱讀角度切入經典與當代英國小說與電
影文本,閱讀文學與電影文本中反映出的當代想像與恐懼,藉由當代
文化理論與小說電影文本的比對閱讀,開發更具省思內涵的閱讀與思
考角度。課程內容除教師講授之外,更著重討論與作業練習, 透過辯證思
考與實際練習,培養英文文章閱讀、欣賞與思考,並培養閱讀英文文章的習
慣以及批判思考的能力;此外,課程設計並強調從閱讀訓練表達、思考、批判
與寫作的能力,課堂中強調互動的課程進行方式將提供學生較多的思考與表
達機會,期以培養對英語學習與研究的熱誠與信心。 |
課程目標 |
本課程檢視醫學在文學、文化中的想像與再現,並得以從閱讀經典文學作品與流行文化作品當中,獲得更為廣闊的文化認知能力(cultural literacy)與國際通識視野(global literacy)。預計達成課程目標如下:(一)英文閱讀能力培養 (二)閱讀理解提升 (三)批判性思考 (四)書寫與口語能力培養 (五)文化理論導讀

修課學生需每週閱讀授課教師指定的閱讀進度,參與課程討論,完成課程
要求之作業練習並張貼於課程網頁,學期間針對討論主題與繳交作業進行一
次小組口頭報告,課程評量包括課堂測驗、團體報告、期末書面報告、平時作業與課程
